The Black Panther and Me

I started out by writing a six issue mini-series.  Marvel liked it so much they turned it into an ongoing series before the first issue launched.  (Here's an interview from the launch period.)  I’ve written a book a month, 22 pages, for five years.

Fortunately all my issues have been collected in trade paperback form that you can buy in comic book stores, regular book stores, or online:

Who Is The Black Panther? Wild Kingdom Bad Mutha The Bride
Civil War Four the Hard Way Little Green Men Back To Africa
The Deadliest of the Species Flags of Our Fathers

I’m no longer writing the ongoing series…burnout, too many other competing obligations…but I will be doing special mini-series like Black Panther/Captain America FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS that will also be collected into a trade paperback.

I am producing a BLACK PANTHER animated series that will debut next year.  Djimon Hounsou is T’Challa, the Black Panther;  Kerry Washington is his sister Shuri, and Alfre Woodard is both the Queen Mother and NSA chief Dondi Reese.  Check back here for more casting information and airdates.

Below is my interview about the book (done at San Diego Comic-Con '09), some of the Black Panther creators also taken at Comic-Con '09, clips of my signing at Golden Apple in Los Angeles (also in 2009), and a cover gallery.
